| The Pharmacy and Bristol Chinese Herb Garden
The wide variety of herbs held means that we can treat just about any disease you can mention! Chinese herbalists use many different parts of plants, including roots, leaves, stems, flowers, fungii and barks. We do not use endangered species (unless they are specially farmed in conservation programmes), or products that require the killing of animals. We grow some Chinese herbs on the premises, although these are for display and research purposes only. Henry is involved with the Chinese Herb Garden at the Bristol University Botanical Gardens, where he also teaches Chinese Herbs. The Bristol garden is linked with Nanjing University Botanical Gardens in China, and helps to raise money for their conservation programme. Bristol Chinese Herb Garden is involved in growing around 300 Chinese herbs, many of which can be seen by the public when the garden is open on weekdays. |
