Dead Man Praying (Light in the North Book 2)
Davey was brought up in Newcastle Upon Tyne and joined the army to escape the 1980s depression. He is killed in action in Afghanistan, but undergoes a ‘lived experience of death’, and comes back to life a changed man. He comes back overland to Newcastle, a kind of pilgrimage in reverse, trying to work out the meaning of what has happened to him.
